Stewed Steak Pie

Here's a quick and easy recipe for a delicious steak pie using Grant's Premium Stewed Steak and Jus-Rol pastry:
Ingredients:
- 1 can of Grant's Premium Stewed Steak
- 1 sheet of Jus-Rol puff pastry
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
- 1 cup beef stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a saucepan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they become soft and translucent.

Add the can of Grant's Premium Stewed Steak (including the gravy) to the saucepan. Break the steak into smaller pieces using a wooden spoon.

Pour in the beef stock and stir to combine. Let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes until it thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

While the filling is simmering, unroll the Jus-Rol puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut out a circle or rectangle that's slightly larger than your pie dish.

Transfer the steak and gravy mixture into your pie dish.

Place the puff pastry circle or rectangle on top of the filling, allowing some overhang around the edges.

Trim any excess pastry, and use a fork to crimp the edges of the pastry to seal the pie.

Brush the beaten egg over the top of the pastry. This will give it a beautiful golden finish when baked.

Make a small slit in the centre of the pastry to allow steam to escape.

Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up and golden brown.

Remove the steak pie from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
