Considered the national dish of Scotland, Grant’s Foods are proud to have been producing Scotland’s most loved Haggis for over 135 years. Our Premium Haggis is loved by customers around the world with cans being sold in over 50 countries. While us Scots and millions of others around the world celebrate the great Scottish poet Robert Burns’ birthday in January with Haggis, neeps (mashed turnip) and tatties (mashed potato), our versatile tinned Haggis is also enjoyed a range of other recipes such as bon bons, stuffed in chicken or topped with short crust pastry.
The History of Haggis
The history of ‘Scotland’s National Dish’ is shrouded in mystery. There is no concrete evidence to support claims that haggis originates in Scotland. It has been argued by historians that it may have come from the romans, or even the Vikings. One thing we do know is, Grant’s Haggis has been produced in Scotland for over 135 years and is made to our secret Scottish recipe. If that doesn’t make our Haggis Scottish, we don’t know what does.
The Future of Grant’s Haggis
As with all Grant’s foods, the future of our Haggis looks clean and green. We will continue to use locally sourced ingredients, recycled materials for our packaging and no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives where we can.
