Instagram Sensation Scrimpy Scottie Haggis Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 400g macaroni pasta
- 50g salted butter
- 50g plain flour
- 800–1000ml milk
- 200g cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 tin of Grant’s Haggis
- Spring onions, chopped, to garnish
Method:
- Cook the Pasta:
Cook the macaroni according to the packet instructions. Drain and set aside. - Make the Cheese Sauce:
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the flour and stir continuously for 1–2 minutes to cook the roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, a little at a time, until smooth and thickened to a sauce consistency.
- Add the grated cheddar and stir until melted and fully combined.
- Assemble:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C / gas mark 4).
Mix the cheese sauce through the cooked pasta, then pour into a buttered oven dish. - Add the Haggis:
Break up the haggis in a bowl and crumble it evenly over the top of the macaroni cheese. - Bake:
Place in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until bubbling hot and the haggis is cooked through. - Serve:
Garnish with chopped spring onions and a sprinkle of extra cheese if you fancy. Serve hot and enjoy!
